6 Best Nomad-Friendly Cafes in Batumi, Georgia

Georgia’s second-largest city, Batumi, is a popular resort city located along the Black Sea. In fact, many travelers rate it more highly than the capital city, Tbilisi.

You can easily travel from Tbilisi to Batumi by train.

» How to Travel from Tbilisi to Batumi by Train?

I live as a digital nomad and mainly move around Eastern Europe. Batumi is one of my favorite cities. In summer, the maximum temperature is around 28°C, which makes it an ideal place to escape the heat.

On this page, I introduce a carefully selected list of nomad-friendly cafes that I often use during my stay in Batumi.

Digital Nomad Cafe in Batumi
  1. Nord Coffee Base
  2. BK Restaurant
  3. MOK coffee
  4. Rhino Coffee
  5. Coffeetopia
  6. Literary Cafe

Incidentally, the last time I visited Batumi was in 2025, so there may be many other great cafes that have opened since then.

Travel Insurance Is Required to Enter Georgia

From 2026, travelers entering Georgia will be required to have travel insurance that covers at least $30,000 for medical and hospitalization expenses.

To avoid being denied entry, please consider getting travel insurance in advance.

“SafetyWing” is highly recommended, offering $250,000 in medical coverage for $56.28 per month.

① Nord Coffee Base

Nord Coffee Base is a new cafe that opened in 2024. It is a little hard to find, but as of 2025, it is the cafe I recommend the most in Batumi.

When you enter the cafe, the staff greets you with Gamarjoba. This level of hospitality is rare in Georgia, and it left a strong impression on me.

The staff are very friendly, and the open second floor with a high ceiling feels spacious and comfortable.

This is one of the most nomad-friendly cafes in Batumi.

② BK Restaurant

BK Restaurant is a cafe-restaurant located in the Old Batumi area, near Europe Square.

The exterior, interior, and staff feel like a high-end restaurant, but the prices are reasonable.

If you enjoy a full meal with wine, the cost can be a bit higher. However, the cafe menu is very affordable, so there is no need to worry.

The most recommended menu item is the cottage cheese and raspberry pancakes. I always enjoyed them with an iced coffee.

If you plan to work as a digital nomad, choose a seat on the second floor.

Saying that I like Batumi because BK exists is not an exaggeration. That is how much I love this place.

③ MOK coffee

MOK Coffee is a cafe located on the third floor of the Grand Mall, opened in 2024. With plenty of seating and free Wi-Fi, it’s the perfect place for digital nomads.

However, its Google reviews are very low.

The main reason for this is the cafe’s self-service and counter ordering policy.

The interior has the feel of a stylish cafe restaurant, so most customers first sit at a table and wait for a waiter to come. However, the waiter never comes to take their order.

As a result, many customers get frustrated and leave the cafe.

This is a typical Georgian scene.

However, since the staff leave customers alone, they can concentrate on working on their laptops. This makes it a recommended cafe for digital nomads.

④ Rhino Coffee

This is a stylish cafe that opened in 2023. There is another cafe nearby with the same name,

RHINO COFFEE, from the same group, but that location does not allow digital nomads. Because of this, it can be a little confusing.
*Also, be careful, as the information on Google Maps is mixed between the two locations.

This branch has a spacious interior and large tables. However, it gets crowded on weekends and holidays, so it is better to avoid staying for long laptop work during those times.

By the way, the prices here are a bit higher compared to other cafes.

⑤ Coffeetopia

Coffeetopia is a restaurant located in the Old Batumi area, near Europe Square. It is only a one-minute walk from BK Restaurant.

The indoor space is not very large, but there are many terrace seats.

Most customers prefer to sit outside, so the indoor area is usually quiet and suitable for relaxed digital nomad work.

The cappuccino at Coffeetopia is very smooth and delicious. However, the iced drinks, such as iced coffee and iced mocha, were disappointing.

⑥ Literary Cafe

Inside Literary Cafe, there are tables with tablecloths and comfortable sofa seats, giving the place a slightly elegant atmosphere. Even so, the cakes are reasonably priced.

The most recommended cake is the Napoleon cake.

Wi-Fi is available, so you can work there as a digital nomad.

I am not sure whether I visited for the cakes or for work, but it was one of the cafes I went back to many times during my stay in Batumi.

In addition to cakes, they also serve food such as pizza, pasta, and khachapuri.

Café WiFi Risks: Why Digital Nomads Should Use a VPN

Working in cafés is common for digital nomads, but free café WiFi is public and insecure. Without protection, your internet traffic can be monitored or intercepted by others on the same network.

On unsecured WiFi, sensitive data such as personal information, login details, credit card data, messages, and online banking activity can be exposed.

Many travelers only notice problems like fraud or account issues after returning home, often caused by data leaks on public WiFi.

A VPN protects you by encrypting your connection and keeping your data private, even on open networks.

For digital nomads who work in cafés daily, using a VPN is a basic security habit to protect money, accounts, and personal information.
