Best Nomad-Friendly Cafés in Tirana, Albania
takayuki

Not many people know this, but Tirana, the capital of Albania, has many cafés that are friendly for digital nomads.
*Even within walking distance in the city center, there are more than 50 cafés in total.

Café drink prices are also very reasonable, usually around €1 to €2.

On this page, I introduce 8 nomad-friendly cafés for digital nomads who are visiting Tirana for the first time.

Nomad-Friendly Cafes in Tirana
  1. Mulliri Vjeter
  2. Sophie Caffe
  3. MonCheri Coffeeshop
  4. HANA Corner Café
  5. Friend’s Book House
  6. Le Bon Tirana
  7. COFFEE-LAB

If you know a good café in Tirana that is not listed on this page, I would be happy if you could share it.

① Mulliri Vjeter

Mulliri Vjeter is a popular café chain in Albania and is often compared to Starbucks.

There are around 20 locations just in central Tirana, so most people will use it at least once when visiting the city.

Some Mulliri Vjeter locations are special and have different prices and menus.

For example, Mulliri Gourmet in the Blloku area, a high-end residential district, offers table service and has a more upscale atmosphere than other branches.

Even so, all locations have a comfortable, nomad-friendly atmosphere and are easy to work from with a laptop, so they are recommended for digital nomads.

  • Opening Hours: 7:00-22:00
  • Wifi pass: No password

② Sophie Caffe

Sophie Caffe is also a café chain with several locations in Tirana, and the WiFi is stable at all of them.

Sophie Caffe makes cappuccinos very carefully. Prices have gone up recently, but a cappuccino and croissant set still costs only 260 ALL (€2.6), which is very affordable.

However, croissants often sell out by early afternoon, so it is best to visit in the morning.

Most Sophie Caffe locations are smaller than Mulliri Vjeter cafés and can be quite busy, especially in the morning.

If you want a more relaxed nomad experience, visiting in the evening is recommended.

  • Opening Hours: 7:00-24:00
  • Wifi pass: rememberme

③ MonCheri Coffeeshop

Mon Cheri is a café chain with around 30 locations just in central Tirana. You can see it everywhere around the city.

It has the atmosphere of a café where many university students in Tirana come to study.

If you want to work as a digital nomad, Mon Chéri – Drejtoria e Policisë is recommended because it has a spacious working area.

  • Location: GoogleMap
  • Opening Hours: 7:00-22:00
  • Wifi pass: moncheri

④ HANA Corner Café

HANA Corner Café is a stylish, homemade-style café, which is rare in Tirana.

It offers a wide variety of sweets, and you can especially enjoy matcha drinks here.

However, indoor seating is limited, so you will usually need to sit outside. Because of this, it can be cold in winter.

Even so, the atmosphere is very nice, so it is still recommended.

Please note that prices are higher than at most other cafés in Tirana.

  • Opening Hours: 9:00-22:00

⑤ Friend’s Book House

Friend’s Book House is a good café for people who want a calm and slightly chic place to work. Personally, I recommend visiting in the evening.

They also serve food such as hamburgers, as well as alcoholic drinks like beer.

This café is stylish and has a nice atmosphere, so it can also be a good place for a date.

  • Location: GoogleMap
  • Opening Hours: 6:30-23:30
  • Wifi pass: a12345678

⑥ Le Bon Tirana

Le Bon Tirana is a stylish place that feels like a modern food court. If you avoid lunchtime, you can relax and work while eating.

Prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants in Tirana. Personally, I recommend the cakes more than the main dishes.

The café gets very crowded from late morning to early afternoon, so if you want to work comfortably, visiting after 3:00 PM is best. However, at that time, some food items may already be sold out.

  • Location: GoogleMap
  • Opening Hours: 6:30-22:00
  • Wifi pass: lebontirana2022

⑦ COFFEE-LAB

COFFEE-LAB is a hidden gem café, in my opinion.

It does not have any special features, but it has large glass windows that create an open feeling. The long, narrow layout facing the street is something I personally like. The staff are also very friendly, which makes it a café you want to visit again.

The only downside is that the cake and dessert selection is limited.

  • Opening Hours: 7:30-22:30
  • Wifi pass: Coffeelab1

Why Café WiFi Is Risky for Digital Nomads

Free café WiFi is convenient for digital nomads, but it is one of the most dangerous places to work online.

Café networks are public. Anyone nearby can connect to the same WiFi. This means strangers can see, monitor, or steal your data more easily than you think.

If you use café WiFi without a VPN, the following risks are very real:

  • Credit card and bank details can be stolen
  • Passwords and login information can be leaked
  • Online banking activity can be monitored
  • Private emails and files can be intercepted
  • Stolen data may be used for unauthorized payments

One careless connection is enough to cause serious damage.

That is why using a VPN when working in cafés is strongly recommended.

VPN apps are easy to install and simple to use. With just one tap, you can protect your connection and work safely in cafés anywhere in the world.
