The Venice Tourist Tax Applies from April to July
The city of Venice has officially introduced the Venice tourist tax starting in 2025 to reduce overcrowding and ease the pressure on local infrastructure caused by mass tourism.
However, the Venice tourist tax is not charged every day. It applies only on specific dates between April and July.
The detailed schedule for 2026 is shown below.

The Venice tourist tax applies to day-trip visitors who enter Venice’s historic city center between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on designated tax days.
If you plan to visit the old city during these hours without staying overnight, you must complete the required payment in advance and carry the QR code with you.

- Murano
- Burano
- Lido di Venezia
- Pellestrina
- Torcello
- Sant’Erasmo
- Mestre
- Marghera
- Favaro Veneto
- Chirignago-Zelarino
