Georgia SIM Price Comparison: Airport SIM vs City SIM Cards

As of 2025, the cheapest Georgia SIM available at Tbilisi Airport is shown below.

Cheapest SIM plan at Tbilisi Airport
  • Price: 60 GEL
  • Validity: 30 days
  • Internet: Unlimited
  • Local calls in Georgia: Unlimited
  • Provider: Magti

At Tbilisi Airport, you can only buy SIM cards with unlimited calls and unlimited internet, so the price is higher than in the city.

If you go into the city, you can buy a Georgia SIM for 30 GEL, depending on how much data you need.

However, there is one important problem.

Can you reach Tbilisi city and your hotel without internet access?

Without Wi-Fi, you cannot use Google Maps, taxi apps like Bolt, or contact your Airbnb host. Getting lost in a new country can be stressful.

That is why “ESIM4TRAVEL” is a good option.

With ESIM4TRAVEL, you can buy a Georgia SIM eSIM starting from 1GB for just 1.79 USD.

In Georgia, you can buy a SIM card from around three major mobile carriers.

In this section, I introduce Magti, which is considered one of the largest and most reliable Georgia SIM providers.

As of 2025, Magti offers two main Georgia SIM card plans for travelers.

Georgia SIM internet-only plans are very affordable and a great option if you do not need local calls.

If you use up your internet data before the 30-day period ends, you can purchase additional data (GB) through the “MyMagti” app.

Below, we explain how to use the app.

How to Manage Your Georgia SIM Using the MyMagti App

First, install the MyMagti app on your smartphone.

When you buy a Magti SIM card, you will receive a Georgian phone number.

This phone number is used as your login ID for the Magti app, so make sure to write it down and keep it safe.

What You Can Do with the Magti App
  • Check your remaining internet data
  • Buy additional data (GB)
  • Check your plan’s validity period

After installing the Magti app on your phone, set a password and log in to access your personal account.

Your 30-day plan has expired and you can no longer connect to the internet, follow the steps below to add more data easily through the app.

Top Up Your Data with the MyMagti App

If you use up all your internet data, the Magti app home screen will display “Internet 0MB.”

If you cannot connect to the internet even though you still have data left, your 30-day plan may have expired.

In either case, by topping up your internet data, you can reconnect to the internet immediately.

Now, tap “Internet 0MB” on the app screen shown in the screenshot above. After that, the following page will appear.

I’m not sure why the balance shows a negative number, but for now, let’s restore your internet connection by adding more data.

Tap “Buy” to top up your internet data.

After that, the available data plans will be displayed as shown below.

From the plans above, choose the data amount you need and proceed with the purchase.

This time, I will select the 5000MB (5GB) plan.

After tapping “Buy”, the plan details and payment options will be shown as below.

This time, we want to pay by credit card, so we selected “Other card.”

Then, you will see an option to choose which card to use: “VISA/Mastercard” or “American Express.”

This time, we selected “VISA/Mastercard.”

By the way, you can also pay using VISA, Mastercard, or American Express debit cards.

Next, enter your card details by following the form shown below.

After entering your card information, tap “→ PAY” to complete the purchase.

Once the payment is completed, a message in Georgian will appear on the screen.
Even if you do not understand the text, it is safe to tap “OK.”

As shown in the screenshot below, you can see that your internet data has been updated.

After the purchase is completed, you will also receive an SMS notification with details about the purchased data amount, price, and expiration date.

Your internet connection is now restored.

If your plan expires while you still have remaining data, that data can be reactivated by topping up your internet data.

For example, if you had 1,000MB left when your plan expired and then top up 3,000MB, your total data balance will be updated to 4,000MB.
*However, the new validity period will be 30 days from the date of the top-up.

In other words, even if your data expires with remaining balance, you can carry it over to the next month by topping up your internet plan.

That’s all!

I hope this guide helps make your trip to Georgia easier and more enjoyable 🙂

However, don’t forget to get travel insurance.
