I selected Class I, which costs 75 GEL.

If you like, you can choose a specific seat.

However, seat assignments are often not followed, so personally, I do not think seat selection is necessary.

Next, set up your account. You can easily complete the online booking by using your Google account.

Tap the “G” icon and allow sharing of your Google account information. You can also register using Facebook or an email address.

After completing the account setup, a screen like the one below will appear.

How to Board the Train on the Day of Travel | Tbilisi to Batumi

On the day of travel, go to Tbilisi Central Railway Station, where trains to Batumi depart.

Arriving about 20 minutes before the departure time is enough.

Tbilisi Central Railway Station is a large white building like the one shown below.

Enter the building through the main entrance in the center, then take the elevator near the entrance up to the second floor.

It is a bit hard to find, but after getting off the elevator on the second floor, the entrance to the train platform is located at the back on the right side.

You enter through a door behind a small shop that looks like a kiosk.
*There were no clear signs when we visited.

The third floor is where the ticket counters are located. If you booked your ticket online, there is nothing you need to do on the third floor.

Before entering the platform, you can buy coffee and bread near the entrance.

The train platform looks like this.

At the entrance of each train car, a staff member is standing.

Show your smartphone screen with the online booking and your passport to board the train.

I purchased a Class I ticket for 75 GEL. The inside of the train looks like this.

The seats are arranged in two columns and are quite spacious and comfortable.

There was also a vending machine inside the train.

When I traveled, Class II was relatively crowded, but Class I was quite empty.

The seats have enough space to place a laptop, such as a 13-inch computer.

However, the train shakes constantly, so it is difficult to work on a laptop during the ride.

I started to feel motion sickness after about 30 minutes. It is better to sleep or watch Netflix while on the train.

By the way, the train arrived in Batumi on time without any delays.

When returning from Batumi to Tbilisi, you can also book your ticket online using the same account you created.

That’s all!
